A Chinese Bronze censer tripod censer, of compressed globular body, raised on three cabriole legs, two descending looped handles flanked on the collar to the rim, each emerging thumb piece. The exterior carved with lettering inscriptions in shallow relief within ruyi shaped cartouche. All reserved in dark olive-brown hue molded bronze patina. The hardwood dome lids decorated with open carving rococo scrolling twigs and crowned by a jade carved mythical creature finial.Mark on base, protruding six script -KaiShu- characters reign mark; XuanDe Reign Period of The Great Ming Dynasty.Dimensions: 7-1/4" H x 9-1/2" W Stand: 3-1/2" H
