A large Westerwald stoneware Royal jug dated 1718, the globular body with a roundel bearing the initials GR beneath a crown, within a sgraffito flowerhead design flanked by foliate scrolls, in grey on a blue ground, the straight neck glazed manganese and fitted with a hinged pewter cover inscribed ~ALV 1718~, 32.6cm.
