Two Chinese famille rose-decorated porcelain snuff bottles 19th century The first of flattened ovoid form, decorated with a meiren with bamboo and plum blossoms, verso painted with an official with two attendants, with a dark hardstone stopper and underside with Tongzhi mark, and probably of the period; the second of ovoid form painted with crickets and an overturned basket, underside with indistinct four-character mark, mounted on a wood stand. Approx. H of taller: 3 in., 7.6cm PROVENANCE: The second: purchased from Fu-Ming-Fair Gallery, Mainland, Pennsylvania, February 5, 1978 by the parents of the present owner. Thence by descent.
