Engraved portrait frontispiece, 37 engraved plates. Rebacked retaining contemporary calf covers and original morocco gilt spine label. Repairs to hinges and endpapers, a few pages with small tears repaired, ownership markings to front paste-down and flyleaf. Provenance: Duke of Leeds (armorial bookplate and old bookseller's listing on front paste-down); Joseph Lyon Miller, M.D. (bookplate); Gordon Jones, M.D. (bookplate). FIRST EDITION. John Browne published the first description of cirrhosis of the liver six years before he brought out this anatomical atlas.
