Parry's case studies of patients suffering what is now known as angina pectoris led him to conclude that the condition was a disease of the coronary arteries. Parry's case reports were remarkably detailed and included the relevant pathological findings. Based on his experience he concluded that "there is an important connection between the rigid and obstructed state" of the coronary arteries and angina pectoris.
