One side of three vertical oak boards, the other with horizontal boards, with chamfered edges, the opening edged with strips of iron, 67cm wide x 5cm deep x 150cm high, (26in wide x 1 1/2in deep x 59in high)
|With fascinating and macabre prisoner graffiti, including three hatch-carved birds, a gibbet with hanged man and flanking ladder, the inscription 'A Place of Care', and another reading '1638...THE 22TH DECEMBER...HERE WAS I...THO*CRIMER'.
