A George II joined oak bureau bookcase, circa 1750


Of slender proportions, having a dentil-moulded cornice, above a pair of arched panelled cupboard doors, enclosing three adjustable shelves, the lower-section with a cleated fall opening to reveal a fitted interior, with a central arched cupboard flanked by a half-column bookslide, pigeon-holes and small drawers, behind a well with sliding cover, the front with a false cockbeaded drawer over three graduated true drawers, on shaped bracket feet, 206cm wide x 92.5cm deep x 47.5cm high, (81in wide x 36in deep x 18 1/2in high)
