A William & Mary joined oak backstool, circa 1690


Having an unusual cresting carved with a crown-type motif and double-scrolls above flowing leaves, with a plain fielded back panel, pyramidal-finals to the back uprights, and a boarded seat, on block and baluster-turned front legs, joined by a paired-baluster turned fore-rail and plain side and rear stretchers, 47cm wide x 42cm deep x 116.5cm high, (18 1/2in wide x 16 1/2in deep x 45 1/2in high)
