A CHINESE BLUE-GROUND FULL LENGTH FORMAL 'DRAGON' COURT ROBE
LATE 19TH CENTURY
Embroidered with nine gilt dragons chasing flaming pearls over turbulent waves in the terrestrial design depicting the universe, with Manchu horseshoe cuffs and gilt-metal toggle buttons, the lining pale blue, together with a copy of Chinese Silks and Sewing Tools by Jocelyn Chatterton, 219cm across, 142cm long.
