The six volumes document 240 separate events with accompanying images by Wang Chuquan and other artists. The present expanded edition was compiled posthumously from a lifetime of travel notes from the author Wanyan Lin Qing by his sons Wanyan Chong Shi, and Wanyan Chong Hou, who sourced craftsman in Yangzhou to complete the work as a testament to their father and his work Wanyan Lin Qing (1791 – 1846), became Jinshi (highest and final degree in the imperial examination) in the fourteenth year of Jiaqing period.
