WanliThe deep rounded sides rising from a short tapering foot to an everted flaring rim, brightly painted in the well with two pheasants beside blooming peonies, the cavetto with a band of scrolling lotus, the foliate rim with shaped panels containing white horses and rabbits interspersed with various diaper-patterns, the exterior painted with sparse branches of prunus, Japanese wood box. 38.1cm (15in) wide.
