Die Luftschifffahrt hat und hatte in Bonn und Bad Godesberg bereits kurz nach dem ersten Passagierflug der Montgolfière in Versailles, welcher vor den Augen Ludwigs XVI und Marie Antoinette im Jahre 1783 stattfand, großen Anklang gefunden. Bereits wenige Monate später startete in Bonn ein Heißluftballon und 1906 wurde der "Niederrheinische Verein für Luftschifffahrt, Sektion Bonn" gegründet. Airship travel has and had found great appeal in Bonn and Bad Godesberg already shortly after the first passenger flight of the Montgolfière in Versailles, which took place in front of the eyes of Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette in the year 1783.
