Four gem-set brooches, early 20th century


1st: Composed of two interlocking hoops, one set with a row of half-pearls, the other with cushion-shaped emeralds, 2nd: The open circle set with a continuous row of calibré-cut rubies and old round brilliant-cut diamonds, within a white enamel border, 3rd: Of openwork scrolled design, set with alternating rows of cushion-shaped green garnets, similarly-cut rubies and old round brilliant-cut diamonds, with pearl highlights between, 4th: Of open square design, set with a row of calibré-cut rubies, each side with a pearl highlight and a demi-lune set with rose-cut diamonds, all brooches mounted in gold, 2nd with French assay marks, pearls untested, lengths: 1st 2.8cm, 2nd 2.5cm, 3rd 2.6cm, 4th 2.4cm (4)
