香筒取南竹一截透雕而制，粗细适宜，雕刻山峦清秀，松柏茂盛，枝干粗壮，松针俊挺纤细，芭蕉肥硕。时代特征明显；山涧石阶若隐若现，意境悠远，一位仕者安立，童子捧物昂首静侍，眉目俊秀，衣带飘逸，似有山风微伏，极见雕刻功力。其上有童子推窗邀月。情景引人入胜。整件香筒品相完好，竹制因年久显现棕红色，细腻温润，长年的摩挲盘玩使得优质的南竹光泽隐现，极为柔美，是清代早期的竹雕人物山水香筒中的逸品。
