The body is cast with an intricate band comprising two stylised taotie masks, one divided to the centre with a vertical flange and a depiction of a crow, the other with a pictogram cast beneath the curved handle surmounted by a buffalo head. The outer layer is surrounded by imperial attachments and inscriptions is casted on the surface and under the handle. The surface is of a greyish-green tone with areas of malachite encrustations with Chinese characters on the bottom.
