An Egyptian wood canopic jar and stopper
Middle Kingdom, 12th Dynasty, circa 1976-1793 B.C.
The stopper in the form of a human-headed canopic deity, the face painted ochre, the wig, eyes and eyebrows in added black and white, the jar made in two parts and joined with tenons, with two columns of text naming the deity as Duamutef, and the owner, partially preserved, as '...renef', jar and stopper probably not belonging, 37.5cm high注脚Provenance:
