A white jade plaque with gilt-painted calligraphyOf rectangular form with rounded corners, inscribed on both faces with a transcription of the Prajnaparamita Heart Sutra, the sutra title Bo re bo luo mi duo xin jing written on one narrow side and the four-characters yihai nian zhi (made during the yihai year) inscribed on the other narrow side; drilled with two holes at the top threaded with a black silk cord also passing through a coral bead.2 5/8 x 1 7/8in (6.8 x 4.2cm) dimensions of jade plaque注脚Provenance:Dr. Dean EdellPublished:Christopher Randall, The Brush & The Stone: The Dr. Dean Edell Collection of Chinese Art, Hong Kong, 1998, No. 16, pp. 29-20; as Qianlong period.
