Four 'Natural History Museum' mahogany cabinets, late 19th Century, attributed to one of three cabinet makers commissioned to make these cabinets, Gillow, Druce and Cubit, each having two panelled doors, 98cm wide 52cm deep 55cm high (4) These cabinets were purchased directly from the British Museum of Natural History in London, after they replaced the cabinets that originally held their collections. The new cabinets were designed to hold the existing trays which is why, unfortunately, none of the cabinets offered have internal drawers.
