A POLYCHROME MAYA BOWL Late Classic, Circa 600 - 900 A.D. The bowl with curved sides, decorated with red, black and orange patterns on an umber background, two sides of the vessel with a cruciform pattern, formed of eight curved prongs, enclosed in a circular border, the rim of the vessel surrounded by a band of black slip, surmounting a red band and a dashed black band, 17.2cm diameter, 10.2cm high. Provenance: Private UK collection, acquired in the 1970s.
