A BONE AND PAINTED EARTHENWARE DAGGER, PAPUA NEW GUINEA The blade formed of pointed bone, surmounted by an earthenware stylised head, with a linear pierced mouth, cowrie shell eyes and two small ears protruding from the side of the head, with a band of cowrie shells running across the head and a plume of fine feathers emerging from behind the right ear, 21.7cm high.
