Cagliari "; under the notation: very precious. Good condition.
Splendid architectural perspective with trompe-l'oeil effects. The Galliari are an important family of painters, set designers and quadraturists originally from Andorno, active during the 18th century. The progenitor, Giovanni, in 1718 was industrious in Milan, next to Martino Cignaroli, in the ducal palace; in 1721 he was engaged in Turin, together with his eldest son Gaspare. When Giovanni died in 1722, the family business was continued and extended by three of his sons, Bernardino, Fabrizio and Giovanni Antonio. The design recalls in style and themes the decorative frescoes made in 1777 by Fabrizio and Bernardino Galliari in the parish church of Pettinengo.Zatti, 1990, p. 537.
