法螺，为藏传佛教“吉祥八宝”之一，为密宗必备之法器、供器。佛经上讲佛陀讲经说法时声音嘹亮，犹如大海螺的声音响彻四方，佛陀入灭后，后世遂以海螺之音代表佛陀的法音召唤，故称之为法螺。据乾隆十四年各作成活计清文件曾制作一系列形似的海螺。此水丞作海螺之形，瓷质，通体内外施粉青釉，莹润如玉，肥厚可人。底部可见八个支烧钉。
