释文：清泉灌顶。杨守敬（1839～1915），字惺吾、星吾，号邻苏，湖北宜都人。同治元年举人。光绪六年至十年随黎庶昌出使日本。工书法，四体皆能，善丹青，格老笔苍。亦长于历史地理及鉴别考据之学。在日期间致力于搜集国内流佚日本之古版书籍，并向日本人传授篆隶北碑之学，被尊为“日本书道现代化之父”。藏书画甚富，藏书楼名“观海堂”。为西泠印社早期赞助社员。
