Chinese Qing Dynasty amphora Zijin glazed porcelain vase. Amphora vase potted in a globular lower body, tapered gracefully toward straight tall neck leading to a slightly incurved rim, flanked with two archaic pattern handles on the neck, raised on a circle splayed foot base. All reserved in attractive monochrome Zijin glaze, the very dark brownish bronze color glaze. Repeating taotie mask decorated on the upper mouth rim, enclosed with double fine gilt ring. Archaic scrolling ruyi clouds, and flaming ruyi decorated the neck with thick ring gilt line. The main body decorated with snarling huge five claws imperial dragon careening through cumulus clouds above thrashing Li-Shui waves in a dark brown color dragon squama rounded the vase. Dragon is the symbol of the Emperor, the Son of Heaven, eternity, Yang and Yin, male vigor and fecundity, the Li-Shui wave pattern which is known to be the abode of dragons. The clay is very fine, with a brilliant glaze finish that was applied by a meticulous, the shape is uniformly proportioned. The vase elegantly displayed upon a carved hardwood stand.
The Under-base bears reign mark, a six underglaze blue seal script characters reign mark, Made In The Years of Qianlong Reign Period of The Great Qing Dynasty.
