Each bowl is finely potted with gently rounded sides rising from a low foot to a straight rim with a slightly rounded edge, exquisitely enameled and textured using fine stippling in shades of pink, green, blue and brown and yellow, white, black and iron-red, the exterior encircled by four ripe peaches in graduated tones of deep pink and lime green scattered with raspberry blushes, borne on intertwined budding and flowering boughs enameled in graduated greyish-blue and ochre tones, issuing ivory and pink blossoms with stamen finely picked out in opaque egg-yolk yellow, the slender leaves expertly shaded in tones of apple-green and turquoise to accentuate the curling surfaces, either side of two playful iron-red bats in flight, the design continuing over the rim to the interior with a further two peaches and three bats together forming the wufu, the glaze stopping neatly at the tapering foot to reveal the smooth white body. Yongzheng marks on bases. Qing dynasty. 5 7/8" diameter. Provenance: Private Collection of an Important Estate, Dallas, Texas.
