无量寿佛为铜质鎏金，头戴宝冠，面金，面容祥和，胸饰缨络，臂饰宝钏，着肩衣，衣下垂至底座正面中央，双手托长寿宝瓶，跏趺坐于仰覆莲台座上。底座外侈。长寿佛即阿弥陀佛，是西方极乐世界的教主。阿弥陀佛的梵文原意是“无量光”和“无量寿”这两种意思，具有空间和时间两种性质，本来都是阿弥陀佛一身所兼具的，在藏传佛教将这两种含义分别制作两尊佛供奉。藏传佛教认为无量光佛是原生的，无量寿佛是他的化身。
