A late 19th century Russian silver gilt and champleve enamel spoon, Ivan Saltykov, Moscow 1884-1897, the bowl reverse and handle decorated with green, blue, pink and white enamel floral sprays within turquoise bead enamel border, presented within original fitted case, 20cm long, weight approx 3.6oz Provenance: By repute of the vendor; Presented to the vendors great grandmother, Pauline De Gendre, by the Caliph of Baghdad for her services as governess to his children. The last Tsar of Russia would visit the Caliph with his family and Pauline De Gendre would also look after his children.
