Heinemann, 1898, 1st. edn. first or very early state, bound in the publishers grey cloth with lettering to upper cover and spine in black, And the publishers monogram in black to rear cover. PP:viii, 303, (I). No adverts. Covers rubbed and corners bumped, spine darkened; title and facing page of advert with dark offsetting stain across to middle of the pages; small stain to page viii (contents); 2- The Invisible Man. Pearson, 1897, first edition, first issue, with the first page of text misnumbered '2'. PP:(ii)blank, (ii)1/2 title & advert, (ii)title & blank, vii-viii(contents), 245, (ii)adverts. Original maroon cloth with gilt lettering to upper cover and spine, and a black pictorial invisible man! To upper cover. Covers rubbed, name and date '1897' to 1/2 title; the stitching is generally a little loose, more so in the first gathering; 3- The War in the Air. George, 1908, first edition, first issue. Original blue cloth with gilt lettering to upper cover and spine. 16 plates, as called for. PP:vii, (I), 389, (I), (ii)adverts. Covers rubbed, a few pages roughly opened, occasional foxing; 4- The War in the Air. Another copy, 1908, 1st. Edn. 2nd issue with a colour version of the frontispiece onlaid to the front board. 16 plates. Covers rubbed and spine darkened; inner hinges cracked, inscription to front endpaper; 5- The Wheels of Chance. Dent, Jan, 1898, 3rd. Edn. original gilt pictorial red covers. Stain to covers, spine darkened. Bookplate to front pastedown; 6- Kipps, the story of a Simple Soul. Macmillan, 1905, 1st. Edn. (6)
