Two delftware plates c.1750-70, the first Bristol or London and painted in manganese with Arion riding a dolphin, with sailing boats in the background and tall sponged trees to one side, the other of pancake shape and painted with a simple house flanked by bare trees, the rim with stylized leaf motifs, some damages and restoration, 22.5cm max. (2) Provenance: respectively acquired from Puttick & Simpson, 22nd November 1967, lot 65 (part); and Sotheby's, 9th January 1973, lot 21 (part).
