Heavily cast, the censer is decorated in relief with a repeated turqoise geometric pattern, flanked by a pair of gilt handles in the form of caparisoned archaic dragons, wearing beaded jewels with stone inlays, supported on three further lion heads. The cover is pierced with lion masks supporting rings, with two lions as the finial.
