A FINE 19th century CARVED MAHOGANY THREE SEAT SETTEE, After an original design by Robert Adam and John Linnell the arched padded back centred with a classical medallion and egg and dart ornament, upholstered in lemon yellow leather, with four cylinder cushions, the outscrolling arms with female figural supports and a foliate carved seat rail, on masked legs and paw feet. 200cm wide, 120cm highThe settee is in the style of a group of 18th century settees including a set at Kedleston Hall, Derbyshire, after design by John Linnel, and those at the Philidelphia Museum of Art and Sir John Soane Museum by Robert Adam, probably produced for Lord Scarsdale at Kedleston Hall and Mrs Montagu of Hill Street, London.
