He is holding a small image of a swaddled baby. The body represents a human being at the time of his death and the image represents the soul of the deceased. The Archangel Michael is carrying the sword in his right hand, his symbol of a warrior. The border applied with a metal basma. Damages to the border, gilding worn. 31.1 x 27 cm.

In der vertikalen Mittelachse ganzfigurige Darstellung des Erzengels Michael als Krieger mit ausgebreiteten Fluegeln. ueber seinem Brustpanzer traegt er einen roten Umhang. Er steht auf einem sterbenden Mann und haelt die eben ausgehauchte Seele in Form eines Wickelkindes in seiner Linken. In seiner rechten Hand haelt er das Schwert erhoben. Randbereich teils min besch., Vergoldung berieben.
