Round shaped stretchers and corner supports. 31-12" wide. 17-1/2" deep. 19" seat height. Caned seats. Minor loss. Original untouched condition. Provenance: from a descendant of St. Louis, Missouri industrialist/civic leader and philanthropist- William Keeney Bixby include a pair of fine 17th century Zitan armchairs. Bixby retired at the age of 48 in 1905 and pursued his collecting passions including many trips to China where the pair of chairs were purchased.
