A CHINESE BLUE AND WHITE YELLOW-GROUND 'DRAGON' BOWL.Qing Dynasty, six character Yongzheng mark and of the period (1722 – 1735).The deep rounded sides rising from a slightly tapered foot to a flared rim, painted around the exterior in underglaze blue with two five-clawed scaly dragons amongst flame wisps and clouds and against a yellow ground, each facing a floral spray with a cartouche containing characters shou and fu, the foot with a band of lotus petals, the centre with a roundel enclosing a similarly painted further dragon, 18.5cm diameter.Provenance: a Japanese private collection.清雍正 黃釉青花繪龍紋盌,青花「大清雍正年製」楷書款 來源:日本私人收藏。 The bowl design incorporating two dragons with fu and shou characters emerged first during the Jiajing period, for an example see Sotheby’s New York, 23 March 2011, lot 721. The present piece compares more closely to works from the Kangxi period such as a yellow ground bowl illustrated in Treasures of Royalty: the Official Kiln Porcelain of the Qing Dynasty, 2003, no 71, and a blue and white bowl in the collection of the Shanghai Museum illustrated Kangxi Porcelain Wares from the Shanghai Museum Collection, Hong Kong, 1998, pl 18. This dates the piece early during the Yongzheng reign. For another Yongzheng mark and period bowl see Christie’s London, 12 July 2005, lot 155.*For a full condition report, please contact the department.**请您联系我们索取品项报告。*
