Photograph taken in 1862. mount size 340mm x 287mmJacques-Phillipe Potteau was a member of the anthropology department at the Museum D'HistoireNaturellein Paris and succeeded Louis Rousseau as the department photographer. Between 1860 and 1869 he made a series of ethnographical portraits for the museum.
