圆雕玉童子头顶桃形发，垂眉、大眼、鼻梁挺直，身着对襟背心、格纹长裤，手持荷花、荷叶扛于肩上，欢快前行，动态十足，具有宋元时期玉雕反映生活气息的显着特征。据《东京梦华录》记载，北宋年间七夕前后，市民有折采荷花的习俗，尤以孩童为甚，故童子执荷题材之玉雕自宋代开始流行，沿袭至元明两朝不衰，又因荷另名莲，童子执荷有连生贵子之吉祥寓意。拍品童子之面貌、服饰特征，均与所见出土及传世宋元玉童子风格相同。参阅：《文艺绍兴：南宋艺术与文化•器物卷》，台北故宫博物院，2010年，页165，图III-44《宋辽金元玉器研究学术研讨会论文集》，科学出版社，2018年，页91，图一六
