瑞兽整体以白玉质地运用圆雕技法制作，玉质细腻温润而带有黑色水银沁。整体作一探首伏身的瑞兽造型，圆眼粗眉，双耳微撇，脑后飘有双分长鬃，身姿壮硕而圆浑。整体姿态威武霸气、雄壮传神，中穿打孔用以佩戴；颇具有南北朝时期的古拙遒劲之风。整体造型雕琢古朴大气、纹饰雕琢简练流畅，沁色自然而造型少见，为收藏赏玩的难得精品玉饰。参阅上图为天津博物馆馆藏
