The Lady with the Unicorn, "Original Briefe"
Set of 20 sheets in-4°, in a cardboard folder marked "Cocteau Originale Briefe".
The first sheet in blue ink signed and dated 1950 is a synopsis of the ballet.
The next 19 are marked "Rosen" on the back and numbered from I to XIX (the probable page XVII not marked and numbered). A double-sided sheet. 15 pages decorated with sketches.
Rarely together indicating instructions for costumes and sets, for staging ("it would be beautiful if when the unicorn has the knight's face in the mirror she attacks the mirror with her horn - that we make a noise of broken ice...") and for lights ("all the lights of the ballet should not be diffuse but by white projectors.....
