Chinese Qing Dynasty Period, Qianlong (powder) purple glazed porcelain garlic vase. The porcelain potted in garlic bottle vase, bulbous lower belly, thick, with rounded shoulder, long cylindrical neck, with shrink on the neck middle to enlarge onion head shape, with slight short mouth rim, raised on short small round, with slight concaved foot base. All reserved hand painted ornamentations are rendered in masterfully covered in an even coat of a deep purple glaze which terminates at the base to reveal the pure white under glaze. The purple glaze creates a mottled effect around the rim which is likened unto the blushing of human skin. The foot rim reveals the cut edges during the making process, and the receded central interior base left white under glaze. The clay is very fine, with a brilliant glaze finish that was applied by a meticulous, the shape is uniformly proportioned. Mark on under base, a six under glazed blue seal script characters reign mark, QianLong Reign Period of Great Qing Dynasty. Dimensions: 5.625"L x 11.5"H
