A Worcester dessert plate circa 1780-85 of circular form with scalloped rim, a central rose spray within turquoise caillouté ground section edged with gilt C-scrolls, the underglaze blue exterior border hung with colourful flower sprays and gold ornamentation, with a gilt dentil rim, underglaze blue painted open crescent, 22cm diameter Provenance: Ex. Wychwood and Jeremy Lever Collections. Notes: HRH Princess Elizabeth and the Duke of Edinburgh received a service of this pattern in 1948 as a wedding gift from the Borough of Cheltenham.
