An important archive relating to the British Polaris Missile Launch - 12th July 1960 collated by Miss Paula Kelly during her service with the Royal Navy attached to the H.M.S Renown, including photographs of the launch, submarines and naval commanders, HMS Revenge crest on shield plaque, pewter tankard bearing inscription 'H.M.S Renown Senior Ratings Mess 17th November 1968 Birkenhead', newspaper clippings and further supporting literature, documents, photographs of English Electric P.1B and PR. Mk7 Canberra and a print of a Vickers Supermarine Swift (unusually framed without glass for probable display on a submarine) (qty) This is a rare archive of Britain's first Polaris missile test. The nuclear powered submarine H.M.S Resolution was 30 miles off Cape Kennedy, Florida when she successfully launched the 2,500 nautical mile range missile.
