Phyllis Dawson - a group of fifteen woodcut prints, mostly depicting animals, some signed, all loosely mounted within an album, together with a collection of other prints by the same hand and her original engraving tools, contained within a mahogany case. Note: Phyllis Dawson (1903-1993) was an illustrator and wood engraver. Born in London, she went on to study at Clapham School of Art with William Washington, then at Canterbury School of Art under John Austen. Many of her woodcuts depict her garden in Barham or the interior of the antique shop where she lived in Palace Street, Canterbury, as well as the local environs.
