A small intact Kashan lustre-glazed jug with inscriptions, Iran, late 12th century, on a short foot with high shoulder, tubular neck and straight handle with thumb rest, decorated to upper shoulder with a frieze of running deer on a scrolling ground, the upper part of the neck with a band of naskh script in reserve, the interior of the rim with band of naskh in lustre, 10.5cm. high Provenance: With purchase receipt from Bluett & Sons, dated 8th January 1970 Intact, the lustre decoration worn off to one side, an additional inscription band to neck formerly present but now rubbed, chips to rim
