A Damascus Iznik border tile, late 16th century, of rectangular form, the cobalt-blue ground with a strong design of meandering green and white arabesques interlaced with serrated turquoise leaves with central cloudbands, palmette vine above and below, upper and lower narrow black borders, 15 x 29cm.
