A large Safavid tinned copper bowl, Iran, late 17th century, the bowl rising from a short spreading foot through wide rounded body to flaring rim, the body engraved with repeating lozenges with flower heads and spandrels, the neck with Persian inscriptions in nasta'liq and flowers on a cross-hatched ground, 29.6cm. diam. Inscription: Inscribed in nasta’liq with the names of the Fourteen Innocents, the name of the owner ‘Muhammad ‘Ali’ in a cusped medallion within the main inscription Please refer to department for condition report
