A Viennese gilt metal and enamel ink well, in the form of a canape, late 19th/early 20th century, the back rail with a pierced pair of billing doves, decorated with courting lovers and figures in an Arcadian landscape, the lid lifting to reveal further landscapes of a castle in trees, with two glass inkwells and a dipped area, overall engraved with scrolls and leaf work, with further enamelwork to the seat rail, on cabriole legs, 9.5cm high, together with a Continental brown agate and gilt metal mounted dish, 20th century, the agate bowl with white and brown striations, with a pair of entwining double snake head handles with jewelled eyes, on scrolling feet, 19cm wide x 10.5cm high (2) the canape has a loose seat, various losses and chips to the enamel, both to one corner and to the underside, general wear to the gilding and discolouration, one of the snake handles is bent, and the handles are pushed into the bowl,the bowl is in good condition
