A SMALL GILT COPPER ALLOY FIGURE OF SHAKYAMUNI BUDDHA Khasa Malla, 13th century. Buddha is seated in dhyanasana on a double lotus base, the right hand in bhumisparshamudra and the left in dhyanamudra, wearing a diaphanous robe gathered on one shoulder. His face with a serene meditative expression, the head and ushnisa covered with tight curls and remnants of blue pigment. Provenance: British private collection.
