A VERY LARGE GILT-BRONZE FIGURE OF AVALOKITESVARA, MING DYNASTY China, 1368-1644. The Boshisattva is seated in dhyanasana on a double lotus base holding a vase and willow stem in his hands, wearing an elaborate and embellished tiara with a small Buddha Amitabha in the center, earrings, jewelry, and a long flowing robe with meticulously incised floral borders. Provenance: A private collection in Riga, Latvia. Condition: Good condition with some wear, minor losses, remains of gilt, fine dark patina.
