A BOXWOOD RUYI SCEPTER, LATE QING China, 19th century. The finely grained boxwood naturalistically carved and reticulated in the form of a gnarled lingzhi fungus, entwined with spiraling branches, a string with a red and a black tassel attached to the bottom. Fine, unctuous patina. Provenance: From an old French private collection. Condition: Excellent condition with old wear and minor natural irregularities to the wood.
