China, 19th century. The transparent stone of a quite even pale blue tone. Carved with a phoenix and flowers, the back incised with bamboo. With a pink tourmaline bead. Provenance: English private collection. Condition: Some natural erosion and associated losses to the back, otherwise in good condition with minor wear.
